Reverse Osmosis Home Alkaline System

Water is required to have less than 3 parts per million of dissolved solids (non-water molecules) to be called ‘purified’. There are two processes available to produce purified water, distillation and Reverse Osmosis (RO). Purified water is classed as ‘dead water’ because the purification process removes both good and bad non-water molecules. Adding good minerals back into the water is important to the health of our bodies. The Blue Jug RO and Alkalizing filter is a 4 Stage System that performs both Reverse Osmosis filtration and re-mineralization. The four stages are as follows: Stage 1: Spun PP filter that removes larger particles like silt, dirt and rust. Stage 2: Granular Carbon filter that removes organics, chlorine, odor and turbidity. Note: The stage 1 and 2 filters are combined in a single cartridge. Stage 3: Reverse Osmosis Membrane separates water molecules from bacteria, heavy metals, dissolved matter, and salinity. This is a slow process that takes about 45 minutes to purify 1 gallon. Stage 4: Biocera Re-mineralization. This cartridge is a blend of 8 rocks that adds alkalinity and molecular hydrogen to the water. The rocks and their benefits are as follows: CaSO3 - Calcium Sulfite (“De-Chlorine”) Tridymite - Tourmaline (“Piezoelectric”) Zircon - Ion (“Energy”) MgO + Catalyst - Increase H2, Increase pH, decrease ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) Quartz - Taste (“Fir Energy”) Calcite - Minerals (Ca, Mg) Hematite - Anion Energy Zeolite Silver – Anti-bacterial Pressure Tank. The system comes with a 3 gallon pressure tank that is connected after the Stage 3 filter. This tank is ‘trickle fed’ by the RO system and provides a volume of store water for a faster fill of containers at the dispensing faucet (seconds verse minutes). Faucet. This system comes with a faucet for mounting at the sink. This provides a separate source for the alkaline/hydrogen water for drinking and cooking, while leaving the normal sink faucet water available for dishwashing and other uses. Installation. This unit is a handyman installation, with all components and pipes included in the kit. The water supply is provided from a ‘T’ inserted into the cold supply to the kitchen faucet. The RO waste water line (containing the rejected contaminants) is connected to the sink drain pipe. The good water line is connected to the new faucet (supplied) mounted at the sink. If your sink doesn’t have a hole available, one will need to be drilled or cut. There is also an option to run a line from the pressure tank to the refrigerator (parts not included) if desired and allowed by the kitchen layout. Maintenance. Replacement filters are available at Blue Jug stores. The volume of water used and the quality of the supply water impacts the change timeframe. The normal recommended times for city water are: The stage 1 and 2 filter (single unit) is replaced every 12-18 months when 2 to 4 people use the water. Can be up to twice as long if the house water is filtered or shorter for larger households. The stage 3 filter (RO membrane) is replaced when the stage 1/2 filter is replaced. The stage 4 re-mineralization cartridge lasts twice as long as the filters and is replaced with every second replacement of the other filters.
